How to replace old GU10 halogen bulbs with GU10 LED.
One great advantage of GU10 LED lights is they provide an excellent replacement for the standard halogen GU10 bulbs. Here is how to make a fast and hassle free replacement.
1. Get a ladder and eye protection gear; to provide access to the fitting and protect your eyes from falling dust respectively.
2. Remove the circlip with pliers to make it drop down ¼".
3. Gently grip the bulb with your forefinger and thumb and rotate it 90 degrees anticlockwise, and get a clear view of light bulb receptacle.
4. Now, orientate the pins on the bulb so that it aligns with the bulb fittings.
5. Carefully offer the bulb upwards to about ⅛''
6. You should now rotate the bulb back and forth about 15 degrees or thereabout. If at your first attempt the bulb doesn't engage take it out and try it again after you realign the pins. The moment you realize the pins are in the fitting, you can lock the bulb into the fitting by rotating it 90 degrees clockwise.
Don't forget to replace the circlip and push the fitting back. Test if the light works and if it doesn't ensure that the electrical connection is perfect.
