LED Spotlights GU10 LED

GU10 LED bulbs - All you need to know about these energy saving lights.

LED lights are energy saving lights that are gradually becoming the preferred illumination for many homes and commercial buildings. One of the most popular of LED lights is the range of GU10 LED bulbs. These are light bulbs with two pins at the base, providing twist lock-fittings. Also, they provide surprisingly high level of illumination, making them more efficient and long lasting than traditional halogen bulbs. GU10 LED bulbs are also a great replacement for old GU10 halogen bulbs and they save you a lot of money on electricity bills.

How to replace old GU10 halogen bulbs with GU10 LED.

One great advantage of GU10 LED lights is they provide an excellent replacement for the standard halogen GU10 bulbs. Here is how to make a fast and hassle free replacement.

1. Get a ladder and eye protection gear; to provide access to the fitting and protect your eyes from falling dust respectively.

2. Remove the circlip with pliers to make it drop down ¼".

3. Gently grip the bulb with your forefinger and thumb and rotate it 90 degrees anticlockwise, and get a clear view of light bulb receptacle.

4. Now, orientate the pins on the bulb so that it aligns with the bulb fittings.

5. Carefully offer the bulb upwards to about ⅛''

6. You should now rotate the bulb back and forth about 15 degrees or thereabout. If at your first attempt the bulb doesn't engage take it out and try it again after you realign the pins. The moment you realize the pins are in the fitting, you can lock the bulb into the fitting by rotating it 90 degrees clockwise.

Don't forget to replace the circlip and push the fitting back. Test if the light works and if it doesn't ensure that the electrical connection is perfect.

GU10 LED bulbs provide cool temperature and are suitable for every room in the house or building. Also, they have a lifespan of between 30,000hours to 50,000 hours and up to 15 different color shades. Because they use very low electricity of about 1.2 watts to 7 watts they save about 80% to 90% of electricity consumption, thereby helping you save plenty of money on electric bills.

LED Spotlights Reviews

The new LED Spotlights are a modern and preferred substitute to the old halogen spotlights. They are produced in different variants, suitable to substitute all types of the old halogen spotlights as follows:

GU10 LED – 240V

G5.3 – 240V

G5.3 – 12V

E27 – 240V

E14 – 240V

B22 – 240V

There are several reasons, why you should consider changing your old halogen spotlights with the new LED Spotlights, which include:
1) The LED Spotlights are 10 times more power-efficient than the ordinary ones, in other words, the new LED Spotlights are 10 times more energy saving than your old ones.
2) The new LED Spotlights will work for 50 times longer than the ordinary halogen ones.
3) The LED Spotlights emit lesser heat when working than the old halogen spotlights.
4) You have a choice of different light types of LED Spotlights on the market.

The emergence of the new LED lighting

In the past year, the new LED lighting has become the leading type in many spheres of the interior and outdoor lighting. The LED lighting products which are most preferred are:
- LED Spotlights for interior lighting, they have almost fully replaced the halogen and energy saving lamps, which has led to a dramatic decrease of their prices. Today, you can buy a LED spotlight for £6-12 as compared to the prices of £12-24 a year ago.
- LED flexible striplights – the modern LED lighting has become the leading type in the interior lighting of bars, disco clubs and in outdoor advertising boards and this naturally has led to a fall of prices of the beautiful flexible striplights. Today, you can buy a fully colored LED striplight for under £6 per meter. Last year the price was £10 per meter.
The new LED lighting cannot fully interchange the energy saving lamps for several spheres though:
- LED street lighting – even though the prices of the low consumption LED street lights have fallen ( from about £500 last year to £250 now), they are still much more expensive than the most preferred energy saving lamps which cost about £40
- LED home lighting - in this niche too, even though the prices have dropped to half of what they cost last year, the LED household lamps are still far from the cheap energy saving CFL ones. Apart from the high price, the main reason for this, is that there aren't LED alternatives to the popular energy saving 60 watt lamps, and also, LED lamps with warm white light are rarely sold, and this is the preferred home light.

If this tendency continues, our expectations are that in a year, the modern LED lighting will be competitive to the now-preferred street lighting and household lighting products, and in maybe a couple of years will become leaders on the market. It is possible that this becomes the tendency even sooner, if the aggressive campaign of LED producers against the energy saving lamps continues.
